Storage Conditions: Watermelons should not be stored in a warehouse with aromatic vegetables or fruits that produce ethylene. The cold room temperature for early ripening cultivars during storage and transportation should be kept between 0 degrees and 6 degrees Celsius and for mid-early and late ripening cultivars more than 8 degrees to 10 degrees Celsius. Temperature changes in the cold room should not exceed +5 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity of the air in the cold room should be maintained between 85 and 95 percent. Humidity changes should not exceed +5%. The air flow in the cold room for each ton of fruit should be between 40 and 50 cubic meters per hour.
