Watermelon is the fruit of different cultivars of the Citrullus vulgaris plant from the Cucurbitaceae family. Baraka watermelon is an early cultivar with high yield and strong bush with suitable foliage cover. The type of fruit is round to oval and its weight is between 8 and 10 kg. The skin of the fruit is dark green with distinct stripes and the flesh is firm and red in color. This variety has a long shelf life on the plant. And due to the appropriate thickness of the shell, it can be transported to distant areas and exported.

Storage Conditions: Watermelons should not be stored in a warehouse with aromatic vegetables or fruits that produce ethylene. The cold room temperature for early ripening cultivars during storage and transportation should be kept between 0 degrees and 6 degrees Celsius and for mid-early and late ripening cultivars more than 8 degrees to 10 degrees Celsius. Temperature changes in the cold room should not exceed +5 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity of the air in the cold room should be maintained between 85 and 95 percent. Humidity changes should not exceed +5%. The air flow in the cold room for each ton of fruit should be between 40 and 50 cubic meters per hour.
