Date Barbecue Sauce

One of the main advantages of date barbecue sauce compared to other sauces on the market is the use of dates as a natural and nutritious sweetener instead of sugar or artificial sweeteners.

Ingredients for Date Barbecue Sauce:

  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 can of tomato paste
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup pitted and chopped dates
  • Water (as needed)
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 6–10 dates (depending on their size)
  • Ground clove (optional)

Preparation Steps:

  1. Sauté Garlic and Onion:
Mix the chopped garlic and onion and sauté them over heat for 3 minutes, stirring well.
  2. Add Tomato Paste and Spices:
Add the tomato paste, smoked paprika, and ground clove to the mixture. Cook for 3 minutes while stirring constantly.
  3. Combine the Remaining Ingredients:
Add all the other ingredients except for the salt and pepper. Increase the heat until the mixture comes to a boil. Then, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    • Note: If you wish to taste the sauce during cooking, do so sparingly. It is recommended not to add more dates until this stage is complete and the mixture is fully cooked.
  4. Cool and Blend:
Remove the pot from heat and allow the mixture to cool for 10 minutes. Transfer the sauce to a blender and blend on high speed until smooth and uniform.
  5. Season and Store:
Add salt and pepper to taste, mix well, and pour the sauce into a bottle. Store it in the refrigerator.
    • Since this sauce is completely natural and homemade without any additives, it is best used within one week.

This delicious date barbecue sauce is perfect for spreading on sandwiches, steaks, or kebabs. Enjoy its unique and incredible flavor!
